Tasting notes Ripe cassis fruit, oak spice and a leafy note to the ripe tannins. Gently feral and showing a hint of maturity, the sous Bois-flavoured finish is long and spicy with a lingering, fruity core.

About the vineyards :
"Château Carcanieux covers an area of 40 hectares, 37 of which are planted with vines - mostly consisting of old vine Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The estate sits on a ridge above the town of Queyrac named Les Terres Hautes de Carcanieux ("The Highlands of Queyrac"). The soil here is extremely gravelly, giving rise to the estate's original name that is carved into its pediment: Carcanieux Les Graves."
