Tasting notes: Delicate, aromatic nose, this wine is herbaceous with ripe weighty fruit on the palate. It has a good linear structure with a gentle complexity and freshness on the finish. A wine to lay down - the high proportion of Sémillon will benefit from a little bottle ageing.
Food match: Whole sea bream, cooked on the barbecue and served with homemade mayonnaise and a tomato salad.
Region : Bordeaux, France

About the vineyards :
"Château Calvimont comes from specific plots which have always belonged to the Cérons estate; the Marquis de Calvimont was the owner in the late 18th century. Viticulture is sustainable and winemaking in the gravity-fed cellar is precise, producing restrained yet characterful wines with a fine minerality and balance. The vineyards are on a plateau of gravel over limestone overlooking the river Garonne, perfect terroir for Sémillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in particular."
